1) When you're in a hurry to get to campus and there is you and the person in front of you. You are going 10mph and they are going 9mph. You have three choices: a) slow down and be late for class b) speed up and look like a freak who hates being late passing them or c) stay the same speed and travel happily right behind them feeling incredibly awkward the whole time. I generally choose b and look like the arrogant weirdo who has some weird feddish with being on time to class
2) Its 6:30 in the morning and you're already freaked out because its still dark and you're the only one walking to campus when suddenly you hear footsteps out of nowhere come up behind you. You jump to the side as your heart stops because of course its the guy that was waiting for you to come by so that he could murder you. Then you realize its just one of those early morning runners that sound like murderers, however from their point of view you look like an overly courteous pedestrian getting out of their way. Good one Amy, way to play it safe.
3) Its early in the morning again and all you want to do is get from destination A to B, and even though every other morning you've been able to grumpily make you way to class, however this morning is different. You run into someone in the ward that you've met once but of course are now best friends with because in a BYU ward everyone loves everyone. You spend all 15 mins trying to rack the already slow and non-functional brain for conversation topics the whole time. Well...there went your peaceful morning.

I'll add to number 1: the person in front of you is carrying a HUGE bag of DIRTY laundry, and is dropping socks as he goes, and you can either pass him so you don't miss the bus/your class, etc, or be nice and tell him he's losing his socks. I however spent five minutes or so trying to figure out what to do and finally someone walking faster than I was told him he was losing his laundry. Ah, memories ...
Also, the phrase "one of those early morning runners that sound like murderers" just made my day! We miss ya, Amy!
